- What is MyGulfIslandHome.com?
- MyGulfIslandHome provides property owners in the Southern Gulf Islands a means to virtually check up on their "homes away from home". Our Premium plan subscribers receive photo updates twice a month.
- Wait, Premium Plan?
- MyGulfIslandHome is available in two versions: our free plan (which you get when you sign up) provides you with a set of photos of your property upon subscription, but no photo updates. Premium subscribers receive photo updates and access to the full set of features on the MyGulfIslandHome web site. If you're looking for a static page that you can share with family and friends, the free plan is all you'll need. If you're looking to make that virtual escape, go for the Premium Plan.
- How much does the Premium Plan cost?
- The Premium Plan is $20 per month. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. There is no sign up or cancellation fee.
- How can I pay?
- Because we're subscription-based, online with a credit card is the best way to go. We've picked a wonderful company called 2Checkout.com as our authorized retailer; when you go to upgrade your account you will be redirected to their web site. Charges will be listed as 2Checkout.com on your credit card statement.
- Where is Saltspring Island?
- It's north-west of here. Oh, you mean in our list? Saltspring is a bit unique in that it's about 10 times bigger than all of the other Southern Gulf Islands. Our "feeling" is that not a lot of people own "second homes" on Saltspring; most of the residents are there year-round.
- We would be absolutely thrilled if we're wrong about this. If you own recreational property on Saltspring and would like to use MyGulfIslandHome.com, please get in touch. If enough people get in touch, we'll launch a Saltspring flavour (and we're not just saying that).
- I'm planning on spending the entire summer on the island, I only need it 8 months of the year.
- Just downgrade your account for those months, and then re-upgrade in the Fall. Or you can leave your subscription in place, and we'd be happy to swing by and snap some pictures of you enjoying your time on the island!
- Okay, I'm sold! How do I upgrade?
- First, sign up for a free account. Once you've signed into your account, you will see an "Account Settings" link in the upper left-hand corner. Click that link to upgrade your plan.
- I don't want to be a subscriber anymore, what's your cancellation policy?
- If you've already paid for the month, simply downgrade your account. We'll finish off any outstanding photo shoots, and you'll keep access to your photos. If you want to completely unsubscribe, send us an e-mail and let us know if you'd like us to zip up all of your photos and send them to you.
- What about refunds?
- Because the service is billed monthly, we will not issue refunds for multiple months of service. If you should downgrade your account mid-month, we will complete any outstanding photo shoots.
